Dr. Rashid Jayousi holds a Ph.D in computer science from Keele University, UK in 2003.
Dr. Jayousi joined the Computer Science Department at Al-Quds University in 1984. His main research interest is in Machine Learning, Multiagent Systems, e-Learning Systems, Data Mining and Distributed Systems. During the years 2015-2019 he served as the Dean of Digital education and director of Al-Quds University Libraries. He teaches courses both at the graduate and undergraduate levels related to Database Systems, Data Mining and Artificial Intelligence. He serves as a member of several committees at Al-Quds university. He directed several World Bank, USAID, EU, and several Erasmus funded projects. Such projects where related to research in e-learning and digital libraries as well as capacity buildings. He served as the manager for the School e-Learning Enhancement project funded by the Belgium Technical Cooperation (BTC) at the Ministry of Education during the period 2010-2015.

International Projects:

Learning Innovation Team (LIT) 2006-2009 project funded by the Quality Fund Project (QIF) to create a team of e-learning trainers at Al-Quds University in cooperation with other Palestinian universities. The training aims at the development of e-enabled course to be uploaded t the university eclass.

Improvement of Science Education funded by the Quality Improvement fund 2009-2010. Project manager, the project aims at the development e-enabled course for science education and to integrate them within learning management system.

School e-Learning Enhancement project funded by the Belgium Technical Cooperation (BTC) at the Ministry of Education during the period 2010-2015.

Competency-based education and training of students in the IT Diploma program (ITDP) project. Funded by the Quality Improvement fund (QIF) 20019-2022. The project aims to develop a specialized diploma in IT that will help in the creation of new job opportunities and to help students to compete in the IT labor market so that hopefully this can help to reduce the high unemployment rates in the West Bank in the IT sector.

Tempus and Erasmus Projects (2006 – Now) such as: Achieving Sustainable Programmes in Regeneration and Entrepreneurship (Aspire), Interuniversity Network for Open and Distance Learning (RUFO), Pathway in – serious games (SAGE), Pathway in Forensic Computing (FORC), Pathway in Enterprise System Engineering (PENS), Track in Software Engineering , Master Level (JMSE), and Master in Health Informatics (HEAL+).
